Angela has used her experience developing the LEAN Families program at Children's Medical Center Dallas to co-author another family nutrition program with Kathryn Fink, MS, RD, CSSD, LD. Simply entitled, "It's A Family Thing!,"  this program de-emphasizes any single person in the family.  No matter what size you are, all family members have goals set for them to work on throughout the program.  This is one of the most hands-on and practical nutrition programs around!

Research shows that it takes time to develop and maintain new habits.  That is why Angela customized packages that include 12 weeks of customized attention.  Change is not easy, but with the nutrition expertise of Angela’s proven phase system and close support, you will be able to meet your nutrition goals once and for all.  People have varying needs and are in different life situations; that is why it is important to customize a plan based on your current lifestyle situation and health issue.  An initial phone or email consultation may provide suggestions of what you might need.  Here are some sample individual nutrition packages:
 
INDIVIDUALS
 
HEALTHY EATING MAKEOVER
 
·        One full nutrition assessment which includes calculation of body mass index, estimated energy expenditure (calories needed/day), growth patterns (if under 18 years of age), nutritional implications of laboratory values, customized goals, objectives to meet those goals and education.
·        Analysis of one (1) week worth of food logs, which is very important in assessing current food patterns. 
·        If weight loss is a goal, a recommendation of calories/day will be included along with tips to decrease your total calories throughout a given day without actually counting calories.
·        Two follow-ups with re-assessment of original goals
·        Email/Mail or phone call reminders and encouragement throughout the 12 weeks.
 
 
Other items can be substituted or added:
 
·        Customized suggestions of foods to choose when travelling or eating out.
·        Four (4) weeks of handpicked healthy lunches and snacks that can be eaten at work or when travelling on business.
·        Pantry/fridge analysis – Dietitian would look through the selection of food items that are currently in the home and make recommendations.
·        Grocery store tour – Tour of local grocery store that would highlight tips and ideas for your family that would help meet your nutritional goals.
·        Analysis of energy balance with special consideration of current activity level.
·        Other ideas given upon initial consultation.
 
 
 
 
FAMILIES
 
HEALTHY EATING PATTERN MAKEOVER
 
·        Includes four (4) complete individual nutrition assessments which include calculation of body mass index, estimated energy expenditure (calories needed/day), growth patterns (if under 18 years of age), nutritional implications of laboratory values, customized goals, objectives to meet those goals and education.
·        Analysis of two (2) weeks worth of food diaries which is very important in assessing current food patterns.
·        Educational session involving the whole family.  For young children, a customized children’s story about how good nutrition makes their bodies strong and smart.
·        Vegetable taste-test with prizes for those that can name all the vegetables tasted.
·        Issuance of a vegetable challenge that will last 12 weeks.
·        Two follow-ups with re-assessment of original goals, prizes for progress and championship prizes for vegetable challenge winner(s).
·        Email/Mail or phone call reminders and encouragement throughout the 12 weeks.
 
Other items can be substituted or added:
·        Pantry/fridge analysis – Dietitian would look through the selection of food items that are currently in the home and make recommendations.
·        Grocery store tour – Tour of local grocery store that would highlight tips and ideas for your family that would help meet your nutritional goals.
